This is the first time an Arduino workshop it to be held at a physics national conference:
American Association of Physics Teachers summer conference in Omaha, NE, July 30, 2011

Search (ctrl+F) for session W20. I don’t know who is organizing this workshop yet but I’ll be there to gauge interest in using arduino for physics teaching.
I will also give a talk on arduino and building teaching apparatus at the meeting. Lots of slides to make and finishing touch to my uniform circular motion apparatus for a competition.
Just found your blog. I too am a physics teacher, and last fall built an arduinio based uniform circular motion apparatus for students to use during labs. A video of mine can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJYKh9kvdTE
I hope to make improvements on it this summer. I’d love to see what yours looks like.
Sorry I was away for a while. Here is my poster:

Thank you! I like your use of POV. I may try to incorporate something like that into my next iteration.
You are welcome. Making teaching apparatus with arduino is a lot of fun for me. I also made a visual ammeter with a spare set of POV head, which cycles with a speed proportional with current value and direction. By the way, have we met last year at AAPT summer meeting? I won’t be able to make it to this upcoming meeting but I’ll send something to the apparatus competition. It’s fun 🙂
By the way, feel free to request my code and design file if you ever need them.
